Ray : Sure, I´m ready!

PrismoTube : OK, What is your reason for getting Prismotube? When you bought the script, what did you wish to achieve/accomplish from it (if any)?

Ray : I wanted to have a video site, where I could show videos from categorized lists.  I haven´t seen a website that does this to such an extent as Channelfeeder.   I actually bought two scripts before, and tested maybe four free Prismo-style scripts.  Though they were far more basic than Prismotube, some didn´t have an admin area!  I was so frustrated with a script I did settle on, because the publisher´s customer service was awful.  One day Youtube changed their code where videos are retrieved from and that just killed my site instantly.  I then searched the net and read reviews, and though I had heard of Prismotube, I was being a cheap skate.  I decided, because of such good reviews, to buy it.  I´ve never looked back.  It´s definitely the best script out there, and amazing value when you consider how powerful and reliable it is.  I wasted possibly two years on stupidly written scripts.

PrismoTube : OK were you hesitant when buying our script? Like any concerns about the script before purchasing?

Ray : Not at all.  I tested the demo thoroughly and read reviews on other websites.  I should have listened to my gut instinct and bought Prismotube when I first started channelfeeder.com.

PrismoTube : Did the Prismotube script exceed your expectations in some aspects and does it disappoint in other aspects? Be brutally honest

Ray : Prismotube exceeded my expectations, because you don´t realise how powerful and user-friendly it is for the webmaster, until you´ve installed it.  The files are easy to understand, and I´m a complete newbie at html and php.  Many times I´ve experimented with files and customising it more and more.  And you guys at Prismotube were really helpful whenever I got stuck or ruined things.  I have learnt now to always make a backup of original files of course!

PrismoTube : Thanks. What is your current traffic like? (visitors/day)

Ray : Back in January 2010 I was averaging 864 visitors a day, barely nine months later and yesterday I received 16,726 visitors.

I´m in the process of changing hosts and getting a better server, and will use the new version 3.0.  I´ve read it has amazing new features.  I get 50% of traffic from Google, with 3,000,000 results for www.channelfeeder.com.

In Japan, according to Alexa.com´s rankings, I´m at 16,360.  I get visitors from all over the world and often emails complimenting the site – thanks to the Prismotube script!

PrismoTube : Have you used Google Adsense to monetize your site?

Ray : Well with Google Adsense I made more money than the hosting and script cost… until Google blocked my Adsense, but I know this problem´s been sorted now by yourselves.  I just haven´t got round to reinstating them.  I´ve been experimenting with banners.  They do okay. averages $2 – $10 a day depending on what banners or PPC company I experiment with.  I could make more, but I don´t want to flood channelfeeder.com with banners.

PrismoTube : Do you have a screenshot for your Google Adsense?

Ray : No sorry, but when I use them again with your new version 3.0 script, I know Google Adsense won´t find any issues.  I mean, all video content is from YouTube, who Google own anyway!

PrismoTube : How long have you been using Prismotube?

Ray : I´d say two years.  And indefinitely!

PrismoTube : What niche/theme are you targeting?

Ray : Lists of videos categorized into sections, which are from drop-down menus.  I originally thought of the idea because I have a poor memory of what to search for on YouTube, so I thought of why not have lists of links that go to YouTube videos!  And voila, Channelfeeder.com was born.

PrismoTube : What is your keyword strategy? How do you decide on what keywords to enter for the categories?

Ray : Mostly from thinking for a while about what words to use and then putting them into action.1

PrismoTube : OK, now how long did it take before you started seeing traffic increase to your video site?

Ray : It´s been going up and up.  I´ll send you an image from my cpanel.  I lost traffic in June 2010 because my host disabled the script complaining of high usage. I sorted this out, but it took about two weeks to do, and lost a lot of traffic.  Since then though, it´s been increasing.  I´m barely halfway through October 2010 and the bars are going rocket past September´s record!

PrismoTube : Any SEO/marketing done on the site?

Ray : I only use a few banners.  No SEO or marketing.  I submit to major search engines weekly.

PrismoTube : If any, what have you done to your site that you think have contributed to the traffic that you have received?

Ray : I´ve customised the look of the original Prismotube to my personal tastes, and I guess it´s proven popular.

PrismoTube : Am I right if I say that almost all your traffic is from Google organic search?

Ray : I think about 50%, because people tend to return either bookmarks or typing in channelfeeder.com.  Yahoo! too maybe, and Ask!, Live as well.

Ray : Stats for yesterday were 16,726 visitors with 188,643 pages consisting of 423514 hits.  It´s been increasing daily.

PrismoTube : Cool!

PrismoTube : How dya monetize?

Ray : I´ve experimented with maybe five companies, but haven´t been too happy, some use hidden javascripts to put ads on words within Channelfeeder´s text, that slowed it down, and looked messy.  Google Adsense was good when I was using it.  Adbrite is also cool.  For now I like putting up banners from affiliate companies, as I can choose what ads to show.

PrismoTube : What do you like about Prismotube?

Ray : The ease of customising the script and experimenting.  I´m a newbie, but I´m proud with what I´ve achieved to date, and I´ve learnt a lot thanks to Prismotube.  Your help has been precious in the past when I began customising it and making stupid, but critical, errors.  I always do backups of files now.  I love Prismotube because it does exactly what I want, and it´s become very personal to me, like a major hobby.  I can happily spend hours every week toying with ideas and the script.

PrismoTube : Who would you recommend Prismotube to?

Ray : To anyone who wants to run a professional website, but doesn´t know programming.  Also for anyone who wants to get that extra income from something that will become a hobby.  Prismotube´s script is use-friendly and so customisable.
